FULTON, Mo. - The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced the men's and women's tennis players of the week, presented by 516 Sports Capital, for week number one. Sophomore Cole Horton and senior Zara Littlejohn were awarded the conference honors respectively. 

Horton competed in two matches during the week, the first of which was in Fulton versus the University of Saint Mary. In a 7-0 shutout of the Spires, Horton won his doubles match with his partner, Tobias Hajek, 6-3, and dominated his singles match 6-1 and 6-2. Then, in a tight 4-3 loss to Drury University, the sophomore continued to shine. Horton and Hajek again won their doubles match 7-5, and followed that performance with another impressive singles win with scores of 6-4 and 6-1. An overall record of 4-0 for the Owl is more than deserving for this week's Heart men's tennis player of the week.

Littlejohn competed just once during the week's span, showing her brilliance in a single day. Women's tennis also competed against Drury University, and, despite the team loss, Littlejohn found success in both singles and doubles. The senior and her partner, Kristina Dimitrijevic, won their doubles match 6-3. Littlejohn continued to earn the team's sole point in her singles match, besting her opponent 6-4 and 6-2. An undefeated individual performance earns Littlejohn proper recognition as this week's Heart women's tennis player of the week, sweeping the award for the William Woods.
