William Woods Announces Ryan Retone as Creative Service and Broadcasting Coordinator

FULTON, Mo. – William Woods University Athletics announced today that Ryan Retone has been named the Creative Service and Broadcasting Coordinator for the department.

Retone returns to William Woods after working in the Media Corps program while earning his bachelor's degree. During his time with the Owls, he assisted with live broadcasts, game day operations, graphic design, and social media content while helping promote the department's 24 varsity sports.

Retone's broadcasting experience began in high school when he aided in founding Nixa Live, a student-led streaming initiative covering Nixa High School Athletics. During his collegiate career he served as a play-by-play broadcaster for Beane Media's local radio stations while freelancing in journalism, photography, graphic design, and digital media.

A former Owl baseball student-athlete, Retone spent two seasons with the William Woods baseball program after transferring from State Fair Community College. During his time with the Owls, Woods finished as runner-up in the Heart of America Athletic Conference tournament and advanced to the NAIA National Championship Opening Round.

In his new role, Retone will oversee William Woods Athletics' broadcasts while leading the department's creative services efforts.

Retone earned his Bachelor's degree in Communication with a sports focus and a minor in Sports Management from William Woods University in 2026. He also holds an Associate of Applied Science in Digital Media Communication and an Associate of Arts in Communication from State Fair Community College, earned in 2024.
