(OSKALOOSA, Iowa, Oct. 26)--The William Woods University men's soccer team earned a road victory at William Penn University Tuesday. WWU won 3-2 to improve to 10-6-1 on the season.
Woods and Penn did all their scoring in the first half of play. Freshman
Joao Paulo Dutra Parra (Sao Paulo, Brazil) scored the first goal of the match in the 10th minute to give the Owls a 1-0 advantage. WPU answered in the 17th minute on a goal from Daniel Beseau to tie the match at one.
Dutra Parra scored his second goal of the night in the 22nd minute to push the lead back to one. William Penn again answered in the 35th minute on a goal from Mark Dryden.
Dutra Parra finished his impressive half with a third goal in the 43rd minute to give the Owls the lead for good. He now has seven goals on the season.
Senior
Cory Herchenroeder (St. Louis, Mo.) recorded a victory for the Owls in goal. Herchenroeder had three saves on the night.
William Woods outshot William Penn 17-9 on the evening.
The Owls will return to action on October 30. They will travel to Williams Baptist College for a 3 pm American Midwest Conference match. It is the final regular season match of the season for the Owls.
