(ST. LOUIS, Mo., Jan. 27)--The 14th-ranked William Woods University women's basketball team defeated Missouri Baptist University Thursday night in St. Louis, Mo. The Owls won the American Midwest Conference match-up 77-60.
Rachel Baker (Mexico, Mo.) led the Owls with 18 points. Baker had a team-high 10 rebounds.
Jestine Gerber (Jefferson City, Mo.) added 16 points in the victory.
Sharron Andrews (Oakland/Hayward, Calif.) and
Megan Aubuchon (Old Monroe, Mo.) scored 15 and 14 points respectively.
WWU improves to 20-1 overall and 7-0 in the AMC. Missouri Baptist falls to 9-9 on the season and 4-3 in league play.
William Woods will return to action on Saturday. The Owls host 23rd-ranked Columbia College. Tip-off is at 2 pm in Anderson Arena.
