Men's Soccer Falls to Ottawa

The William Woods University men's soccer team lost a road match today at Ottawa University.  The Braves defeated the Owls 3-1.  WWU falls to 5-3 on the season.  Ottawa improves to 2-3 on the year.
 
J.P. Parra (Sao Paulo, Brazil) put the Owls on the board early.  Parra scored two minutes into the match to give William Woods the early lead.  Marcelo Carreiro (Curtiba, Brazil) recorded an assist on the goal.
 
Ottawa answered with a goal in the 21st minute by Matt Abbott.  Erich Kevari added another goal for OU in the 35th minute to give the Braves a lead they would not relinquish.  Philip Nguyen added the final goal for Ottawa in the 51st minute of play.
 
The Owls tallied 27 shots on the afternoon.  Woods put 16 shots on goal.  Ottawa recorded 15 shots in the match.  The Braves placed six shots on goal.
 
Sean Geoghegan (Naas Co. Kildare, Ireland) had three saves in the loss.
 
William Woods will return to action on September 21.  The Owls travel to Missouri Valley College for a 7 pm kick-off.
