The William Woods University men's soccer team looks to protect its perfect 3-0-0 mark in American Midwest Conference action on Tuesday night, as they take on current no. 8-ranked Columbia College. Kickoff for the match is set for 7 p.m., with the Owls recognizing the four on-campus fraternities and sororities during the match as part of Greek Night.
Last Time Out
After a one-day postponement due to wet conditions in the Belleville area, the Owls picked up their ninth win of the season in a 3-1 triumph over NAIA newcomers Lindenwood University-Belleville. WWU opened the scoring in the 21st minute as
Luca Stroeter notched his fourth goal of the year. The hosts equalized in the 26th minute, but the deadlock was short-lived.
Danilo Carnelos served up a corner kick for the Owls and Lindenwood-Belleville managed to clear the immediate chance but not completely out of danger.
Kyle Konigsberg recycled the attack and served up a cross that Carnelos nodded home for the 2-1 lead. The Sao Paulo native would add his assist on an insurance goal in the 48th minute for WWU.
Chasing First Place
Tuesday's match features two teams with unbeaten records in AMC action. WWU holds a slim edge over Columbia in the league standings with a perfect 3-0-0 record and two games in hand. The Cougars are 4-0-1 on the league slate and are owners of an unbeaten 10-0-3 record.
Ranked Teams
Columbia is the second top-10 team in the NAIA Coaches' Poll to pay a visit to Firley Field. The Owls battled Missouri Valley College in the season opener for both teams, with the Vikings ranked 10th in the coaches' balloting at the time.

Danilo Carnelos picked up his second game-winning goal in as many matches on Saturday, making the most of his inclusion in the WWU starting XI. The strikes mark the first career game-winners for the Sao Paulo native, who has tallied 11 points (3 g, 5 a) on the season.
