ST. LOUIS, Mo. -- Despite a double-double from
Sharron Andrews (Oakland/Hayward, Calif.) and a 12-point outing from
Megan Aubuchon (Old Monroe, Mo.), the William Woods University women's basketball team struggled to find the range on Saturday, falling 46-50 to Harris-Stowe State University.
The Owls managed to take a 25-20 lead into the break, posting a .333 shooting pace in the first, adding a 9-of-14 performance from the free throw line. Defensively, WWU held Harris-Stowe to a woeful .250 clip.
In the second half, however, WWU's 3-point shooting difficulties would be haunting, as HSSU battled back and took the victory.
WWU finished the contest hitting at just a .315 pace from the floor, with a 0-of-11 mark from long range. The Owls fall to 8-4 in AMC play and will host Stephens College on Thursday night. Tipoff for the game is set for 5:30 p.m.
