No. 23 Owls Return To Action On Saturday As They Travel To Harris-Stowe

Santos leads the Owls in scoring and rebounding.
FULTON, Mo. -- The no. 23-ranked William Woods University women's basketball team returns to action after an unexpected week off as they travel to St. Louis to face Harris-Stowe State University. Tipoff for this American Midwest Conference tilt is scheduled for 2 p.m.

The Owls are coming off an 85-64 loss to no. 18 Columbia College. The 85 points allowed by William Woods was a season high, and the 22-point defeat is the largest margin in a loss this season.

Priscila Santos is William Woods (16-3, 7-2 AMC) leading scorer with her 13.5 points per game pace. The 5-11 Brazilian guard has tallied double-digits in 13 of the Owls 19 games this season. She recorded her fourth 20-point game of the year with 22 points in last Saturday's loss. Santos also leads the Owls in rebounding with her 6.4 rebounds per game pace and has collected two double-doubles on the year.

Harris-Stowe (6-16, 3-7 AMC) is coming off an 80-64 loss at Lyon College. Alexis Minner scored 16 points and Shanique Buford collected a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. The Lady Hornets have lost three straight and are in eighth place in the AMC.

Ashleigh Spencer leads HSSU in scoring with 17.7 points per game, the average is the second-highest in the AMC.  Buford leads the conference in rebounding with her 11.5 caroms per game pace and is third in the league in scoring with 17.5 points per game. Minner is the top assist woman in the AMC handing out 4.6 assists per game.
