SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- The William Woods University volleyball team got a 20-kill performance for the second straight match, this time coming from Emma Aschenbrenner, as the Owls defeat College of the Ozarks 3-1 (25-21, 23-25, 25-22, 25-23).

William Woods (2-6) got a big lift from its middle blocker, as Aschenbrenner collected a career-high 20 kills on an impressive .529 hitting percentage against College of the Ozarks (7-4).

It's the second straight match that the Owls have had a 20-kill performance, as Emily Becker hit the mark against Tabor College yesterday afternoon.

Becker and Lauren Rodewald joined Aschenbrenner in the double-digit kill category, as the Belleville, Ill., native collected 14 kills, while Rodewald posted a season-best 12 kills.

A pair of former Belleville West High School teammates posted a double-double for the Owls, as Becker had 17 digs to go with her 14 kills, while Sara Stevenson had an impressive 53-assist performance, accompanied by 11 digs. It is the third double-double for Becker on the season, while it is the second for the freshman setter.

WWU had an impressive day on defense, as they had five players record double-digit dig games, led by junior Abbie O'Mara's 35-dig match. The Owls posted a season-high 97 digs in the match.

Aschenbrenner's 20 kills now puts her in a tie for third all-time for most kills in a four-set match. She joins teammates Emily Becker and Kristen Bauer on the list. Becker has hit the mark twice, as she equaled the total yesterday afternoon, while Bauer collected 20 kills against Westminster College last year.

William Woods closes out the Evangel University Tournament later this afternoon as they face host school Evangel University. First serve for the match is set for 4 p.m.
