In a statement, Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, Brian Spielbauer, expressed: "I'm very excited to have Ike as our next head volleyball coach. He did a wonderful job during the interview process and connected well with not only our search committee, but also our current team members. I'm excited about the future of Owl Volleyball with Ike at the helm!"

Coach Papes also shared his enthusiasm for joining the William Woods University community, "I'm very excited to join the women's volleyball program at William Woods University and be part of this proud community.
