FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's soccer team looks to capture the upset of the year on Saturday afternoon, as the No. 16 Lyon College comes into town for a 3:00 p.m. match-up.

The Owls (6-3-1; 2-1-1 AMC), are coming off a come from behind, 3-1 victory against Missouri Baptist University earlier this week. The team scored three un answered goals in the second half, to push its win streak to a season-high of four.

William Woods posted an impressive 23 shots on the day, as three different players found the back of the net, which two of them recorded their first goals of the season.
Brett Hodges paced the way recording nine shots, with one landing in the net and
Lendell Louis-Jacques tallied another assist to his stat sheet on the year, pushing his season total to eight.

It was an all around victory for WWU, as the Owls defense was just as dominating as its offense. After letting the Spartans score first, the Owls responded by holding MBU shot less in the final frame.
Conor Cable collected one save and picked up his fourth win on the season.

On the season, offensively
Alex Severino leads the team with eight goals and 15 points, while
Rodrigo Alves, who was named the AMC Offensive Player of the Week, has came on hot lately, scoring five of his six goals on the year in the past four games for WWU. Another reason for the Owls success offensively, has been because of Louis-Jacques, who has handed out an impressive eight assists on the year, tying him for first place in the AMC and ranking him fourth in the nation.

The Owls know that Saturday's game will not be an easy stroll in park, as Lyon College enters the AMC showdown with an 8-0-1 overall record and a 3-0-1 record in the AMC.

The Scots have complied a remarkable eight shutouts in their nine games, which is first in the nation, while only giving up two goals this season, so far. The team was riding a seven game win streak, until it was snapped by a 0-0 (2OT) draw to Hannibal-LaGrange University last Saturday.

Offensively, the Scots are guided by senior Jonathan Ray, who leads the team in goals (seven), assists (seven), and points (21). Another player that the Owls will have to keep an eye on is Estiven Ramirez-Garcia, who leads the team with 33 shots, while posting six goals and five assists, which is good enough for second on the team. The Owls will have to find a way to get past the Scots experience goalkeeper, who has recorded 34 saves on the year and leads the AMC with a .240 goals against average, which is also second best in the nation.

Statistically on paper, both teams' match up well, as they sit a top in the AMC in several categories. WWU has recorded 29 goals on the season, while the Scots have earned 23, Lyon College edges the Owls with 19 assists to WWU 17 on the year, while also collecting one more save (36) than the Owls (35).
