ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The William Woods University men's soccer team heads on the road Tuesday night, as the Owls travel to St. Louis College of Pharmacy for a first time match-up against the Eutectics. Kick-off is set for 9:00 p.m.
The Owls (3-3-1; 0-1-1 AMC), look for its first American Midwest Conference (AMC) victory on the year, as the team is coming off an impressive 5-0 win over non-conference Bethany College last Saturday afternoon. WWU defeated the Swedes in dominating fashion, outshooting BC 22-15 and collecting its first shutout on the year.
Rodrigo Alves, had an impressive outing for the Owls, as the Compinas, Brazil native, recorded a career-high two goals on the day, along with four shots.
Brett Hodges was another Owl to have a stellar day, as the junior handed out a team-high two assists, while collecting one goal and four shots.Â
Rhys Wallace also posted four shots, while recording his first collegiate assist.Â
On the season,
Alex Severino remains a top of the team offensively, as the senior leads the team in goals (six), shots (16) and points (13). His six goals on the year is good enough for third best in the AMC, tying two other AMC players. Â Â Hodges now leads the team with four assists, while coming in second on the team in the shot department with 15. In the net,
Conor Cable has pushed his season total up to 22 in 401:12 minutes played.
STLCOP comes into the match-up looking for its first victory on the year, as the Eutectics are currently off to a rocky starting with a 0-4 record. In their last outing, Columbia College defeated STLCOP 6-0. On the season, the Eutectics have been outscored by its opponents 22-0 and outshot 147-12. Adis Sahbaz leads the team with five shots, while Aaron Hohenstein, in the net, has recorded 22 saves in four games.
