FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University Volleyball team returns to action on Wednesday, October 12th when they host Columbia College in the American Midwest Conference Volleyball Match of the Week. The Match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. at Anderson Arena.
About the Owls
- The Owls enter the match with an overall 16-9 record and 6-1 AMC ranking the Owls third in AMC behind Missouri Baptist and Park.
- The Owls are coming off a sweep of St. Louis Pharmacy last Thursday. The Owls defeated the Eutectics, 3-0 (25-11, 25-13, 25-21).

Brittney Engelbrecht has collected 899 assists on the season and she is currently second on the career all-time assists lists. She has dished out 3,555 assists in her career at WWU

Abby Ferguson right behind her with 50.
- The Owls are tenth in the nation in digs with 1,711 and are led by freshman
Jessica Jensen holding 465 of those digs, ranking her at 16th in the nation.
- The Owls are 14th in the nation in kills on the season. As a team the Owls have recorded 1,174 kills on the season.
Victoria Day leads the Owls with 280 kills, which is the 37th most in the NAIa this season.
About the Cougars
- The Cougars are entering the match with a 12-8 record on the season and have not lost a set in four straight matches.
- Columbia is coming off a sweep of Williams Baptist on Monday night. The Cougars were victorious by set scores of 25-13, 25-17, 25-6
- Peiyi Liu, reigning NAIA Player of the Year, was named AMC attacker of the week. She averaged 4.22 kills per set and hit 0.508 for the week.
- The Cougars are third in the nation in hitting percentage, 0.282. Peiyi Liu leading the Cougars in hitting percentage with a 0.430.
- Sashiko Heredia is 16th in the nation in assists per game averaging 10.48 assists, and is also ranked 43rd in the nation in assists with 702.
- Columbia is the reigning NAIA Volleyball National Champions. This was the schools fourth national championship in school history
