Engelbrecht Named NAIA Honorable Mention All-American

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced the 2016 Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball All-America Teams, chosen by the NAIA Volleyball All-America Selection Committee, announced Tuesday. This committee is made up of NAIA-AVCA officers and the championship committee and Brittney Engelbrecht was named Tachikara-NAIA Honorable Mention All-American.
 
This is the First Tachikara-NAIA Volleyball All-American honor for Engelbrecht and the fourth overall player to receiving this honor in William Woods Volleyball history. She joins Emily Becker, Skye Wade and Lacey Olin to earn these honors.
 
Engelbrecht, a Jefferson City, Missouri native, earned Tachikara-NAIA Honorable Mention All-American Honors. Besides earning 2016 AVCA-NAIA All-Region honors, Engelbrecht was a First Team All-AMC selection this season. She led the Owls in assists with 1,237 on the season ranking her at 27th in the nation. Engelbrecht has also collected 168 kills, 34 service aces, 393 digs, and 27 blocks.
 
On October 4th, Engelbrecht advanced to second on the career assists lists at WWU. On October 21st, Engelbrecht recorded a triple-double (47 assists, 19 digs, 10 kills) against Vanguard. Last season, Engelbrecht was a 2015 AVCA Midwest Region Honorable Mention team selection.
 
Over her three years at WWU, Englebrecht has recorded 3,893 assists and she is currently 1,244 assists away from the career record.
