Volleyball Host Lyon and Williams Baptist This Weekend

FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods Volleyball team hopes to continue their win streak on Friday September, 30 when they host Lyon College at 7 p.m. at Anderson Arena. The Owls will also be hosting Williams Baptist College on Saturday October, 1 at 1 p.m. at Anderson Arena.

About the Owls
- The Owls enter the match with a 13-8 overall record, winning their last two matches against Freed-Hardeman University and Central Baptist College on September 23 and 24
- The Owls are currently 3-0 in AMC play and enter this weekend as one of four teams who have not lost an AMC game this season
- The Owls have recorded 991 kills in this season, Victoria Day with 229 of them. As a team the Owls rank 18th nationally with the 991 kills, while Day ranks 43rd with her 229 on the season
- The Owls are ranked sixth in the nation in total digs with 1,486. Jessica Jensen leads the Owls as she has recorded 408 of them putting her ninth in the nation in total digs.
- Brittney Engelbrecht is ranked number five in the nation in total assists dishing out 772 on the season. In her career, Engelbrecht has dished out 3,428 assists, which is the third most in WWU Owls history. She is 78 assists away from tying second place all-time in Woods career assists list.
- Stephanie Davis leads the Owls in hitting percentage at 0.310, also ranks 37th in the nation. The Owls are 40th in the nation in hitting percentage, 0.220.
 
About the Scots
- The Scots enter the match with a 9-8 overall record and are 2-1 in AMC play.
- Lyon enters the match after dropping its last match, 3-0, to College of the Ozarks on September 27th
- The Scots have recorded 625 kills on the season and Katrina Frickleton is leading the way with 158. Frickleton is one of two players who have over 100 kills for the Scots.
- The Scots are ranked fifth in the nation in service aces per game with 2.670. They are also ranked number six in the nation with total service aces with 163. Madisson Williams leads the Scots in aces with 27, while teammate Olivia Iriana follows with 25 aces on the season.
- Brittney Beckham leads the team with 281 assists on the season, averaging 4.61 a match. Beckham is not the only Scot dishing out assists as Jordan Dabdub has 217 assists on the season.
 
About the Eagles
- The Eagles enter the match with a 6-6 overall record with a 2-1 AMC record. They are coming off a 3-0 victory over Crowley's Ridge College on September 26h. - The Eagles will travel to Parkville, Mo. to face Park University prior to coming to Anderson Arena.
- Jessica Baugh ranks 47th in digs per game with 5.030. She also leads the Eagles with 201 digs on the season. She is the only Eagle with over 200 digs on the season
- The Eagles have a total of 515 kills on the season, Brooke Howell leading the way with 101, averaging 2.5 a set. Howell is the only player in triple figures for kills on the season. Madison Laubach follows with 97 kills on the season.
- Jordan Harvey leads the team in assists with 223, averaging 5.6 a set. Williams Baptist has recorded 486 assists on the season. Taylor Barton follows with 170 assists on the season.
- The Eagles have a total of 58 service aces, with Mallory Wright and Taylor Barton tied at 14 apiece.
 
What's Next
The Owls will take a break from the road hosting the next seven matches, six of which are AMC play. After this weekend the Owls return to action on Tuesday, October 4th when they host Lindenwood-Belleville at 7 p.m. at Anderson Arena.
