FULTON, Mo. - The William Woods University Women's Basketball team prepares for its American Midwest Conference contest against No. 9 Lyon College on Thursday, January 19 at Anderson Arena. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
 
About the Owls
- The Owls enter this contest with an overall record of 11-6 and an AMC record of 8-4
- WWU was defeated by Columbia, 74-57, on Monday in AMC action
- Jasmine Brown continues to lead the Owls in three categories. Brown is averaging 13.8 points per game, a total of 113 rebounds, and 20 blocks
- April Gebke leads the Owls in steals with 27 on the season and has a total of 57 assists
- Gebke and teammate Kaycee Gerald have dished out 57 assists on the season, which is 48th best in the nation
- Kaycee Gerald is shooting 78 percent from the free throw line, ranking her 33rd in the nation

- The Scots enter this weekend with an overall record of 13-2 and an AMC record of 9-1
- In the latest NAIA Division I Women's Coaches' Top 25 Poll, Lyon finds itself ranked ninth in the nation
- Lyon has won its last four contest. The last loss for the Scots came on December 29th when No. 1 Freed-Hardeman defeated Lyon, 61-49
- Madison Riley is leading the Scots in points per game averaging 9.5 points. Riley also averages 4.1 rebound, 2.7 assists, 1.4 steals per game
- Sarah Elkins leads in rebounds with 78 on the season and is averaging 5.2 rebounds per game
- Elliot Taylor leads the Scots in blocks with a total of 14 blocks. Taylor has also collected 66 rebounds, 19 assists and eight steals
- Lyon is only allowing opponents to score 54.9 points per game. This is the eighth best mark in the NAIA this season
- The Scots are winning its games by an average of 19.1 points per game. This is the ninth best mark in the NAIA
 
Last Meeting
The Owls and Scots have squared off one this season, on November 17th. Lyon came away with a 78-64 victory over the Owls. Peyton Greenlee led the Owls with 15 points in the contest. WWU shot 43 percent from the floor in the contest.

What's Next
The Owls will continue at home on Saturday January 21st against Central Baptist College tip-off set at 1 p.m. At halftime, William Woods University will honor its 2017 Hall of Fame Class.
