Box Score FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's tennis team was defeated, 8-1, by NCAA Division II Southwest Baptist University on Wednesday afternoon at the Suzanne Neal Memorial Tennis Complex.
 
With the loss the Owls fall to 4-6 on the season. WWU returns to action on April 1st when they host St. Louis College of Pharmacy at 10 a.m.
 
The Owls did not get the start they were looking for against the Bearcats of Southwest Baptist. Southwest Baptist came out swinging as they took the first two doubles matches (No. 1 and No. 2 doubles). WWU rallied in No. 3 doubles to tie the match at 6-6 but could not get the lead as they were defeated and the Owls were going into singles down 3-0. Full doubles results listed below:

William Woods continued to battle in singles action. The Owls Alba Salinas was the lone victory for the Owls as she was victories in No. 2 singles. Playing third singles, Chelsea Steward, battled and after dropping the first set came back to win the second set. However, Steward dropped the third set. WWU could only win in No. 2 singles on the afternoon. Full single results listed below.
