Box Score WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. - In a top 25 battle, the No. 6 William Woods University women's tennis team defeated No. 25 University of the Cumberlands (Ky.), 5-2, on Monday afternoon. The win for the Owls is its third win of the season.
William Woods jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead in doubles action as they took No. 2 and No. 3 doubles.
Alba Salinas and
Felicia Cesar defeated Maria Ochoa and Hannah Wampler, 8-2 in No. 2 doubles.
Chelsea Steward and
Abigail Lemberger followed with an 8-5 victory in No. 3 doubles. The only doubles the Owls dropped was No. 1 doubles. Below are the results from the doubles action:

The Owls dropped the first singles match of the day and the match was tied at 2-2. However, after falling in No. 1 singles, WWU won the next three singles matches to clinch the win for the Owls, 5-2. WWU won in No. 2, No. 3 and No. 6 singles on the day. The final two matches were unfinished.
