Men’s Soccer Takes on Lindenwood-Belleville Saturday

FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University men's soccer team returns home to host Lindenwood University – Belleville on Saturday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m.
 
About the Owls
- WWU enters the contest with the Lynx with a 7-2-2 overall record and 4-0 in the AMC
- WWU is currently on a six game winning streak. During the winning-streak the Owls have recorded four shutouts, all in AMC play
- William Woods is coming off a 3-0 victory over Williams Baptist College on Monday. The Owls used three first half goals to defeat the Eagles
- The Owls have recorded five shutouts on the season, the sixth best mark in the NAIA
- Conor Cable was named AMC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. Last week, he recorded two straight shutouts in AMC play
- Rodrigo Alves leads the Owls with five goals on the season. His five goals this leading the AMC
- WWU has scored 17 goals and collected 17 assists on the season
- William Woods has taken 181 shots on the season while only allowing 131
- The Owls defense has only allowed 49 shots on goal this season
- Conor Cable leads the Owls as he has recorded 28 saves on the season and has recorded five shutouts
 
About the Lynx
- Lindenwood-Belleville enters the contest against the Owls with a 0-5-2 overall record and 0-1-2 in AMC play
- The Lynx are coming off a 1-1 tie against Park University on Tuesday night
- The goal scored by Lindenwood-Belleville on Tuesday was the first goal scored for the Lynx on the season
- Lindenwood-Belleville has played four games in overtime this season, including its last two AMC games
- Andres Garza has scored the lone goal for the Lynx on the season
- Lindenwood-Belleville has outshot its opponents 78-73 on the season. However, the Lynx have been outshot 48-28 on shots on goal
- Joan Carlos Perez leads the Lynx in goal, as he is recorded 5.1 saves per game, which is the 47th best mark in the NAIA.  Perez has recorded 36  saves on the season

The Owls return to the road following the home game against the Lynx. WWU will travel to St. Louis, Missouri to face St. Louis College of Pharmacy on Saturday, October 7. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
