Box Score LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The William Woods University women's tennis team, sponsored by Fulton Medical Center, was defeated by NAIA No. 1 Georgia Gwinnett College, 6-3, on Monday afternoon. The Owls are the second team to take more than one point against the Grizzlies.

Georgia Gwinnett came out and took the first two points of the day as they took No. 1 and 3 doubles over the Owls. WWU bounced back and the team of
Zlata Shuraeva and
Ana Zavala won No. 2 doubles, 8-4, over Gabrielle Robinson and Debora Scurt.
GGC extended its lead to 4-1 after taking No. 2 and No. 1 singles. WWU bounced back and claimed the next two points of the match.
Karyna Sagalai took the second point of the match for the Owls when she defeated Margaridda Abreau in three sets, 6-3, 1-6, 10-7.
WWU scored its second point in singles action when
Ana Zavala won in No. 4 singles. After dropping the first set, 6-0, she won the next two, 6-2, and 10-5.
Georgia Gwinnett took No. 5 and 6 singles and defeated the Owls, 6-3.
The Owls return to action tomorrow, March 7th when they face No. 14 Middle Georgia State University and No. 22 College of Coastal Georgia in Brunswick, Georgia.
