Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 MILWAUKEE, Wis. – For the third straight year, the William Woods University tennis program will be represented at the ITA Cup. The Owls Zlata Shuraeva and Ana Zavala will present the Owls at the ITA Cup.
 
The ITA Cup will be held at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College in Rome, Ga. from Oct. 11 to the 14th.  Shuraeva will be playing singles and doubles as she teams with Zavala at the ITA Cup.

ITA Women's Draw
Needing to win one match to advance to the ITA Cup for the second straight season, top seed Zlata Shuraeva faced third seed Lisa Keller of Cardinal Stritch in the women's singles draw finals. Shuraeva defeated Keller, 6-4, 6-2, and claimed the ITA Central – East Region Singles Championships for the second straight season.
 
Shuraeva's day was not done as she also had the chance to advance in doubles as her and teammate Ana Zavala reached the finals. The top seeded Owls, Shuraeva and Zavala, faced a familiar doubles team in the finals as they faced off against Chelsea Steward and Korina Zarari, the three seed of the draw. Top Seed Shuraeva and Zavala came out on top, 6-3, 6-1, advancing to the ITA Cup.
 
ITA Men's Draw
In the semifinals of the men's single draw, saw the Owls battling the Wolves of Cardinal Stritch University. Fifth Seed Aaron Westerlund (WWU) faced top seed Agustin Gascia (Stritch) and third seed Oscar Barreiro (WWU) faced second seed Nicolas Wehrle (Stritch).
 
Westerlund struggled to get momentum going against the top seed, Gascia. Gascia knocked out Westerlund, 6-0, 6-3. Barreiro battled with Wehrle but Barreiro was defeated 6-4, 6-3.
