BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The William Woods University men's track and field team placed third out of eight at the Illinois Wesleyan Titan Open on Saturday, January 26. The Owls earned 46 total points.
Washington University (Mo.) won the Open with 179 points, completely dominating the other seven teams present. Lincoln College came in second with 56 points.

For the Owls,
Denver Horn won the long jump with a 6.69-meter jump. It is the second-best in school history.
Cole Schlief placed just behind him with a 6.54-meter jump. Horn also placed fifth in the high jump with a 1.88-meter jump.
In the 5,000-meter run, brothers
Schuyler Ogden and
Nathaniel Ogden placed second and third, respectively.
Schuyler Ogden ran a time of 15:54.80, and
Nathaniel Ogden finished just .01 second behind with a 15.54.81.
The 4x400 meter relay team, consisting of
Henrique Tsugiyama,
Jared Eliuk, Schlief, and
Jacob Cain, placed fourth out of 15 with a 3:32.01 time.
Tsugiyama placed fifth in the 400-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 52.47. In the 200-meter dash, Schlief placed sixth with a 23.59 race time.
In the 60-meter hurdles,
Dalton Spencer placed eighth in the preliminaries with a 9.12 time. In the finals, he placed ninth with a 9.23 race time.
Also placing eighth was
Nathaniel Ogden in the 3,000-meter run. He crossed the finish line in 9:11.43.
The Owls next compete at the Mule Relays hosted by the University of Central Missouri on Thursday, January 31 through Saturday, February 2.
