CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa- William Woods track and field finished out their 2025-26 team competition season at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships over the weekend. The meet, hosted by Mount Mercy University, marked the first Heart Outdoor Track and Field Conference Championship the Owls have competed at since joining the conference.
"We had a really good day on both the Men's and Women's side. We scored more points on both sides then what we did during the indoor season. The Men's 4x800 meter team of Wilson, Martin, Soest, and Brodersen showed up hitting the National B-standard, sending them to North Carolina for Nationals." Added Head Track and Field Coach Anthony Stockton. "We had many stellar performances from Crystal Ruden, Mekayla Gibson, El Reagan and Anna Hart, Jasper DeGraffenried, Timothy Kester, Isiah Craighead and Sean Wigger. None of the overall success would come without the amazing help from Coach Moreno, Mike Bhat, Tucker Coleman, Jacob Polacek, Coach Kirby, and Coach Thurman. We are looking forward to seeing what is to come at the national meet. We are very appreciative and grateful for the leadership from our seniors and wishing them the best success in their future endeavors."
