FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University Men's Soccer team returns to action Wednesday, Oct. 23 as they host conference opponent Hannibal-LaGrange. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at Firley Field. 
 
About Hannibal-LaGrange 
The Trojans come into the contest 9-4 overall and 5-1 in the American Midwest Conference. After winning their season opener over Lincoln Christian, they fell 0-4 to Mount Mecey (Iowa). But the lost was short lived as they went on to win their next three games before suffering back to back loses.

After losing to Culver-Stockton and Bellevue, the Trojans turned things around by winning five straight games giving them a 5-0 conference start. Their winning streak was finally stopped last week when they fell 2-4 to Lyon on Oct. 19. 

As a team, Hannibal-LaGrange hold six national rankings. They rank 12^th overall in shots per game (19), 21^st overall in shots on goal per game (9.3), 28^th overall in total goals (43), 33^rd overall in goals per game (3), 38^th overall in total assists (28) and 47^th overall in assists per game (2). 

Renato Barroso is the only Trojan with national rankings. He ranks 38^th overall in total assists (7) and 47^th overall in assists per game (.5). 
 
About William Woods 
William Woods enter the contest coming off a 2-1 victory over Central Baptist that took place Oct. 15. The win gave the Owls their fourth win of the season and their second AMC victory which puts them 4-10 overall and 2-5 in the AMC. 

Prior to the victory over the Mustangs, WWU was on a three-game losing streak falling to Park, Lincoln College (Ill.) and Williams Baptist. 

Collectively, the Owls hold two national rankings. They rank 37^th overall in saves per game (6.4) and 38^th overall in total saves (86). 

Iker Gonzalez is the only William Woods player who holds two national rankings. He ranks 18^th overall in saves per game (6.1) and 22^nd overall in total saves (86). 

Billy Nzojyibwami is the other Owl with a national ranking. He ranks 30^th overall in total game winning goals (3). 
 
History Between William Woods and Hannibal-LaGrange 
The first match between the Owls and Trojans took place on October 2, 2010 when Hannibal-LaGrange won 1-0. Since then they have faced each other 10 other times in which the Trojans hold a 7-1-3 series lead. 

The last competition between WWU and HLG took place on Sept. 25, 2018 when the two tied 2-2.
