SUNRISE BEACH, Mo. – The William Woods men's golf team took third place in the Porto Cima Invitational early this week. As a team, they shot 45-over par throughout the tournament.
Leading the way for the Owls and tying for sixth was
Logan Smith. Smith shot seven-over par with a combined total of 151. He shot a 76 in round one and a 75 in round two.
Sam Thornton and
Tom Doran tied for 17
th place. Thornton shot 12-over par, with a 77 in the first round and a 79 in the second round. This combined for a total of 156. Doran also shot 12-over par and 156 overall, shooting 76 in round one and an 80 in round two.
Jakub Dymecki finished 27
th shooting 19-over par. Dymecki shot an 82 in round one and an 81 in round two. This was a total of 163.
Rounding out the Owls was Phillip Heller who tied for 34
th. Heller shot 23-over par with an overall score of 167. He had a competitive first round score of 77 while his second round was 90.

The Owls will compete in the Columbia College Cougar Classic at the Columbia Country Club on October 7 and 8.
