Owls Golf Finish Third at Porto Cima Invitational

SUNRISE BEACH, Mo. – The William Woods men's golf team took third place in the Porto Cima Invitational early this week. As a team, they shot 45-over par throughout the tournament.
 
Leading the way for the Owls and tying for sixth was Logan Smith. Smith shot seven-over par with a combined total of 151. He shot a 76 in round one and a 75 in round two.
 
Sam Thornton and Tom Doran tied for 17th place. Thornton shot 12-over par, with a 77 in the first round and a 79 in the second round. This combined for a total of 156. Doran also shot 12-over par and 156 overall, shooting 76 in round one and an 80 in round two.
 
Jakub Dymecki finished 27th shooting 19-over par. Dymecki shot an 82 in round one and an 81 in round two. This was a total of 163.
 
Rounding out the Owls was Phillip Heller who tied for 34th. Heller shot 23-over par with an overall score of 167. He had a competitive first round score of 77 while his second round was 90.
 
What's Next?
The Owls will compete in the Columbia College Cougar Classic at the Columbia Country Club on October 7 and 8.
