MARSHALL, Mo.- William Woods University men's golf, who recently broke back into the NAIA Coach's Poll at #21, fell just five strokes short of their ninth team title this season. This time, as is for the only other tournament in which an opponent outshot the Owls, the loss was delivered at the hand of Heart of America Conference Opponent #14 Missouri Valley.
The highlight for the Owls was yet another top place finish for senior, Spencer Worley. The left-hander from the UK had already amassed 12 individual wins in his career, elevating that total to 13 after this 15-under tournament. Tim Falk and Victor Vella tied for sixth, with Job Damen tying for ninth, and Joe McCandless tying for 15th to finish out the WWU 'A' Team's scorecards. William Woods secured the second-place trophy shooting 31 hacks under their next closest opponent (Mount Mercy).
