Box Score NEW ORLEANS, La. – No. 6 William Woods University fell 5-4 to No. 9 William Carey University (Miss.) Saturday afternoon. The Owls drop to 3-5 overall and 1-0 in the American Midwest Conference.

Zlata Shuraeva secured WWU with the first singles victory as she defeated Valeriya Shurbina 7-5, 5-7, 6-4. In the No. 1 spot. Ana Zavala was the next Owl to capture a win when she defeated Xiana Garcia 6-1 and 6-1 in the No. 3 spot.
 
During the doubles Shuraeva and Zavala were able to beat Wijitbanjong Pakkaro and Lauren Rouillion Jimenez 8-4 in the No. 2 spot. WWU was able to capture their final victory in the No. 3 spot when Chelsea Steward and Felicia Cesar defeated N. Chamoun and Garcia 8-4.
 
William Carey was able to capture singles win at the No. 2, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 spots. They secured a win in doubles grabbing one victory at the No. 1 spot.
