ST. CHARLES, Mo. –The William Woods University men's track and field team placed fourth out of 16 at the cold, windy and rainy two-day John Creer Invitational hosted by Lindenwood University.
The Owls next compete at William Jewell on Saturday, April 13.
Jumps
Denver Horn won the long jump with a 6.63-meter jump, earning ten points for the team.
Cole Schlief placed third with a 6.33-meter jump, and
Jonathan Rae placed fourth with a 5.73-meter jump. Combined, they earned 11 points for the team.
Brandon Evans placed seventh, jumping 5.21-meters for two points.
Julian Muller-Williams rounded out the top ten with a 3.88-meter jump.
Throws
Horn placed second in the javelin, throwing 49.55-meters. His throw earned him eight points and put him second in the WWU record book.
Cole Brenneke placed fifth with a 44.73-meter throw, earning four points.
Tanner Pezold placed eighth with a 42.24-meter throw to earn one point.
In discus, Pezold threw 32.07-meters for an eighth-place finish, earning one point. He also threw hammer and placed 10
thwith a 34.78-meter mark.
Sprints/Middle Distance
Schlief placed fourth in the 100-meter dash, finishing in 13.19 for five points.
Brandon Evans came in just over a second later, placing seventh with a 15.00 time for two points.
