Box Score MARSHALL, Mo. – The No. 6 William Woods University women's tennis team won their 10th consecutive match with an 8-1 victory over Missouri Valley College to end their regular season. The Owls are now 13-5 on the season heading into the conference tournament.

The Owls took a 3-0 lead following doubles play. Chelsea Steward and Felicia Cesar in the No. 3 doubles swept their opponent, 8-0. Finishing second was Zlata Shuraeva and Ana Zavala in the No. 1 spot with an 8-3 win. Rounding out the doubles sweep was Julia Perez Wienese and Karyna Sagalai with an 8-5 win in the No. 3 doubles.

Steward finished first in singles play with a 6-0, 6-1 win in the No. 5 singles. Zavala finished next with a 6-1, 6-1 win in the No. 3 singles, putting the Owls up 5-0. Shuraeva picked up the next win for the Owls in the No. 1 singles, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1. Sagalai swept her opponent in the No. 6 singles, and Cesar earned the eighth and final point for the Owls with a 6-3, 6-1 win in the No. 4 singles.

The Owls begin the American Midwest/Heart of America Unaffiliated Tournament on Friday, April 26.
