ROLLA, Mo. – The William Woods University men's track and field team competed at the two-day Dewey Allgood Invitational. No team scores were taken.
Next up for the Owls in the American Midwest Conference Outdoor Championships. The two day meet begins on Friday, April 26.
Jumps
Cole Brenneke shattered the WWU pole vault record on Saturday with his 3.92-meter vault. He vaulted .12 meters over the two-year old record, earning him a sixth-place finish.
Denver Horn placed fourth in the long jump. His 6.94-meter jump tied for second in the WWU record book.
Cole Schlief placed eighth with a 6.56-meter jump.
Throws
Horn put himself fourth in the WWU record book for the javelin throw with his fifth place, 48.13-meter throw. Brenneke placed seventh with a 45.67-meter throw, and
Tanner Pezold placed 10
th.
Pezold also placed 10
th in the discus throw with a 34.25-meter throw.
Sprints
Schlief placed sixth in the 200-meter dash, placing himself fourth in the WWU record book with the 22.51 second run. He placed ninth in the 100-meter dash with an 11.25 second run.
Middle Distance
The Owls had seven compete in the 1500-meter run, led by
Jackson Conner. Conner placed seventh with a 4:05.91 run, placing him third in the WWU record book.
