FAYETTE, Mo. –The William Woods University men's track and field team placed 11
th out of 16 at the Central Methodist Invite with 23 points.
The Owls next compete at the Darrel Gourley Open in Liberty, Mo. hosted by William Jewell on Saturday, April 13.
Jumps
Denver Horn placed third in the high jump with his 1.90-meter jump, earning six points for the Owls. The jump put him in third in the record book.
Horn also placed third in the long jump, earning six more points. His 6.94-meter jump placed second in the record book.
Cole Schlief placed fifth with a 6.71-meter jump, earning four points and putting him fourth in the record book.
In the pole vault,
Cole Brenneke's 3.51-meter vault put him third in the record book.
Throws
Horn placed fifth in the javelin with a 45.92-meter throw, earning four points for the Owls.
Tanner Pezold placed 12
th with a 41.84-meter throw.
Pezold placed 13
th in the discus with a 34.90-meter throw and 15
thin the hammer throw with a 36.31-meter throw.
Sprints/Middle Distance
Schlief placed sixth in the 400-meter dash with a 50.09 time, earning three points for the team.
Henrique Tsugiyama placed 10
th with a 51.22 final time.
Donovan McCarthy placed 13
th in the 200-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 23.25.
