Box Score MARION, Ind. – The No. 7 William Woods University women's tennis team defeated No. 11 Indiana Wesleyan University in the final day of the Indiana Wesleyan Invite. The Owls improve to 9-5 on the season.

 The Owls swept doubles play to take a 3-0 lead. Zlata Shuraeva and Ana Zavala finished first in the No. 1 doubles, defeating their opponents, 8-1. Finishing next was Chelsea Steward and Felicia Cesar in the No. 3 doubles with an 8-6 win. Karyna Sagalai and Julia Perez Wienese finished out doubles play with an 8-6 win in the No. 2 doubles.
 
Heading into singles, the Owls just needed two points to clinch the win. Steward grabbed the fourth point in the No. 5 singles with a 6-3, 6-0 win, and Zavala clinched the win with a 6-4, 6-1 victory in the No. 3 singles.
 
The Owls look to stay undefeated in conference play with a match at Lindenwood University-Belleville on Wednesday, April 10. They face NCAA Division II McKendree University later in the day.
