Results) The No. 7 William Woods University men's golf team leads the CC Cougar Classic following day one of play with
Philipp Heller holding the individual lead. The Owls shot a 297 through the first 18 rounds, holding a 10-stroke lead over runner-up and host Columbia College.
Philipp Heller shot an even par on the day, leading the 49-player field with a 71. On both the front and back, he shot two birdies, five pars and two bogeys.
Logan Smith shot one over par on the day to sit in a three-way tie for second with a 72. He shot four birdies on the front nine with a par and four bogeys to finish even. On the back nine, he shot a birdie, six pars and two bogeys.
Jakub Dymecki shot four over par on the day, finishing tied for seventh place with a 75. He shot two over on the front nine with two birdies, three pars and four bogeys. On the back nine, he finished two over with two birdies, four pars, two bogeys and one double bogey.
Arron Patel shot a 79 for a four-way tie for 14
th place standing following day one. He shot 10 pars and eight bogeys.
Theo Brown shot an 85 on the day to sit in a five-way tie for 31
st place. He shot one birdie, nine pars, four bogeys and four double+ bogeys.
Playing as individuals were
Shane Brosenne,
Pheemawat Winomrat,
Grant Mach and
Evan LaPosha. Brosenne and Winomrat finished with a 79 to sit in the four-way tie for 14
th with teammate Patel. Mach shot an 84 for 28
th place, and LaPosha shot an 89.
