FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team grabbed their first conference win and snapped their eight-game losing streak as they topped Central Baptist College Thursday evening, 66-57. The Owls move to 4-12 on the season with a 1-4 conference mark.
Sydney Booker recorded a double-double, and three Owls' players posted double digit figures.
The Owls finish their home stretch with a 1 p.m. game versus RV Lyon College (Ark.) on Saturday, Jan. 15.

Game Highlights
The two teams traded possession to start the game, but a three from
Katie Keilholz followed by an in-the-paint jumper from
Kiyanna Rodgers gave the Owls a five-point lead with 2:35 on the clock, 16-11. CBC cut the game to two heading into the second quarter, 16-14.
CBC continued their stretch as they scored the first five points of the second quarter to take a three-point lead. An
Arriyonn Phillips jumper and a fast break layup from
Amaya Keeling put the Owls back ahead three minutes in, 20-19. A 9-0 run from the Owls put the team up by six with 1:24 to play, 29-23. The Owls ended the half with a six-point lead, 30-24.
The Owls maintained possession of the lead throughout the third quarter, but CBC did cut the game to one three minutes in, 32-31. A layup from
Sydney Booker put the Owls up by four, but with 2:57 on the clock, CBC evened the score with a fast break layup, 39-39. CBC again evened the score, but Booker and Keilholz scored on the next two plays to take up a four-point lead, 45-41. CBC scored the final points of the quarter, sending the Owls into the final quarter with a two-point lead, 45-43.
CBC cut the game to one to start the final 10 minutes, and they took a one-point lead three minutes in, 52-51. A jumper from Rodgers put the Owls back in the lead, and a three from Keilholz followed to give them a four-point lead, 56-52. Booker hit a down-low shot almost three minutes later to take up a six-point lead, 58-52. Resorting to fouling in the final 22 seconds, the Owls went 6-for-6 from the line to grab the nine-point win, 66-57.
