ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The second half doomed the William Woods University women's basketball team on the road Saturday afternoon at Missouri Baptist University, 63-51. The Owls fall to 5-14 on the season with a 2-7 conference mark.
The Owls dominated the floor in the first half, outscoring MBU 36-14 through the first 20 minutes, but MBU answered by rocking the Owls 49-15 in the second half.
They continue their road series with a Thursday evening game at Stephens College starting at 5:30 p.m.

Kiyanna Rodgers gave the Owls a three-point lead two minutes in, 4-1. A three-point play from Taniegh Boyd gave the Owls a six-point lead with 2:51 on the clock, and a jumper from Boyd followed by a buzzer-beater three from
Katie Keilholz put the Owls up by nine heading into the second quarter, 19-10.
The Owls outscored MBU 17-4 in the second quarter to possess a 22-point lead at halftime.
The Owls ignited an 8-0 run to start the second quarter while holding MBU scoreless through the first four minutes, 27-10. The Owls put together a 6-0 run with four points coming from
Kasey Hazell and two coming from Booker to take up a 21-point lead with 1:38 to play in the half, 33-12.
Kiyanna Rodgers scored the final points of the half on a three to give the Owls their largest lead of the game, 36-14.
The tides changes, and MBU came out blasting a 10-0 run through the first 1:37 to cut the game to 12 points, 36-24. They continued their run after two Booker free throws halted their first run, adding six more points to cut the game to eight four minutes in, 38-30. Booker went 2-for-2 from the foul line to put the Owls back up by 10, but MBU cut the game to seven with just over a minute to play. A jumper from
Natalie Thomas put the Owls back up by nine, 44-35, but MBU went 2-for-2 from the foul line to close out the third quarter with the Owls holding just a seven-point lead, 44-37.
MBU cut the game to three just a minute into the fourth quarter, and with 6:19 on the clock, they grabbed hold of the lead, 49-48. A three from Keilholz evened the score with 4:34 on the clock, but MBU pushed a 12-0 run to close out the game, 63-51.
