MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa – The William Woods University women's basketball team dropped to Iowa Wesleyan University in their second game of the season Wednesday evening, 70-57.
The Owls look for their first win on Tuesday, Nov. 8, as they travel to Baker University (Kan.) for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.

How It Happened
IWU hit a 11-2 run midway through the first quarter to take an eight-point lead over the Owls with 3:40 to play, 14-6. A three from
Natalie Thomas halted their run, and a jumper from
Sydney Booker at the buzzer sent the game into the second quarter with the Owls trailing 19-11.
The Owls' deficit sank to double digits, and just over halfway through the second quarter IWU extended it to 17 points, 36-19.
Jersee Wren hit a three to end the half, sending the team into halftime trailing 38-24.
A 11-3 Owls' run early in the second half cut the game to eight just under halfway through the third quarter, 43-35. The score teetered on staying in single digits, but IWU scored the final three points of the quarter to take a 12-point lead over the Owls heading into the final 10 minutes of play, 59-47.
IWU extended their lead to 17 with a 7-0 run in the fourth quarter. The Owls were unable to make a dent to their deficit and fell 70-57.
