ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The William Woods University women's soccer team placed six on the American Midwest Conference All-Conference Teams.
Sydney Balducci,
Lauren Helmert and
Abby Wilson earned a spot on the All-AMC First Team, and
Cindy Gonzalez,
Michyla Handley and
Sam Poehlmann earned a spot on the All-AMC Honorable Mention.
Mackenzie Boyle was named to the Champions of Character Team.
Forward
Sydney Balducci earned a spot on the First Team after leading the Owls in goals and points. She started in all 18 games and netted 13 goals with three serving as game-winners. She also had one assist for 27 points on the season.
Midfielder
Lauren Helmert earned a spot on the First Team after starting in all 18 games. She leads the Owls in assists with five and ranks second on the team in points (15) and goals (5). She went 2-for-2 on penalty kicks this season and scored the game-winning goal against UHSP.
Defender
Abby Wilson earned a spot on the First Team after holding down the back line in all 18 games. She helped hold opponents to just 30 goals this season. She also scored a goal and assisted one for three points.
Forward
Cindy Gonzalez was named Honorable Mention after playing in 16 games. She has tallied nine points, scored three goals with two serving as game-winners and assisted in three goals.
Goalkeeper
Michyla Handley was name Honorable Mention after starting in 12 games in goal and racked up 954 minutes in between the posts. She holds a 5-4-1 record with 72 saves, three shutouts and eight complete games.
Midfielder
Sam Poehlmann was named Honorable Mention and has started in 15 of her 18 games played. She ranks third on the team in points with 11 and has four goals on the season with a game-winner and three assists.
