FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team used a strong second half start to top Williams Baptist University Saturday afternoon, 59-47. The Owls improve to 7-15 on the season with a 4-8 conference mark.
The Owls make up their rescheduled game versus Harris-Stowe State University on Sunday, Feb. 6, at 2 p.m.

Game Highlights
The Owls scored five to start the game while holding WBU scoreless through the first three minutes. A three from
Katie Keilholz and a jumper from
Kasey Hazell put the Owls up by seven with 4:29 on the clock, 10-3. WBU cut the game to four, but
Sydney Booker scored the final points of the quarter to hold a six-point lead at the end of the first, 12-6.
Booker hit the first jumper of the second to take an eight-point lead, 14-8. Back-to-back points from WBU cut the game to three with 3:55 left in the half, 18-15, and with 1:53 to play, WBU brought the game to one. Neither team was able to score again, sending the Owls into halftime with a one-point lead, 20-19.
The Owls blasted a 13-0 run through the first five minutes of the third quarter with five different players scoring to take up a 14-point lead, 33-19. WBU managed to cut the game back to seven, but
Sydney Booker ended the quarter with a jumper to hold a nine-point lead, 41-32.
The Owls scored just one point in the first four minutes of the final quarter, but a three from Keilholz with 5:54 on the clock put the Owls back up by nine, 45-36. Four good free throws from Booker followed by a jumper from
Natalie Thomas gave the Owls a 12-point advantage with four minutes to play, 51-39. WBU cut the game to seven with 2:38 to play, but a jumper from Hazell and two free throws from Keilholz put the Owls back up by 11, 57-46. Two free throws ended the game with the Owls grabbing a 59-47 win.
