SILVIS, Ill. – Logan Smith sits in a four-way tie with one round remaining after shooting a two-under-par 69 in round three of the NAIA National Championships. He sits just three strokes out from first place with a 204 (70-65-69) and has one final round to play on Friday.
Smith sat in 18th place after day one. He moved up 13 spots following day two and just recently moved up two more to be in his current third place sitting.
He teed off on hole 10 at TPC at Deere Run, starting the day with a birdie on one of the course's three par fives. After shooting pars on the next three holes, he shot a second birdie on hole 14's par four. He shot two more pars before going one stroke over par on hole 17's par five. He closed out the back nine with a par to sit one under par with a 35 heading into the front nine.
A birdie kicked off the front nine to go under by two again. He shot pars on the next five holes. A bogey on hole seven's par three put him one under par, but he closed out the round with a par and a birdie to again sit two under par.
