St. Louis, Mo. – The William Woods University women's basketball team saw their three-game win-streak come to an end at the hands of Columbia College inside Anderson Arena on Saturday.
The Owls fall to 8-18 overall and 6-12 in the AMC.

Sydney Booker chipped in with nine points and nine rebounds.
Sydney Booker got the scoring going with a basket in the paint, giving the Owls the early advantage, however the Cougars stormed back with 10 of the next 14 points to take the 10-6 lead with just over six minutes remaining in the period. The Owls were able to hang tough, but CC took a 22-14 advantage into the first break.
Columbia started to open things up in quarter number two, as they began the first five-minutes plus on an 11-4 run to increase their lead to 15. A
Jersee Wren bucket cut the deficit to 13, but that was as close as the Owls trailed 37-23 at the intermission.
Natalie Thomas opened the second half scoring with a layup, then the offense went cold for both teams. Neither team scored for the 4:21 of game time. WWU kept withing striking distance and cut their deficit to 10 with seven seconds remaining the third, but the Cougars hit a buzzer beater three to lead 46-33 going into the final 10 minutes.
A pair of free throws got the Owls within nine (52-43) with 5:37 remaining, but the Cougars had an answer again as they quickly increased the lead back to 15 and cruised to the 62-49 win.

The Owls finish up the regular-season on the road with the first of two games on Thursday against Williams Baptist (Ark.). Game time is scheduled for 5:30 PM
