JACKSONVILLE, Ill. – (RESULTS) The William Woods University men's track and field team placed third out of 16 teams at the Jim Green Invite hosted by Illinois College Saturday afternoon.
 
The Owls finished the day with 62 points for third place, coming in behind Columbia College and Illinois College.
 
Landon Dunlap won the 800-meter run for the third week in a row. The Owls finished with one win, 12 top-five finishes and 16 top-10 finishes.
 
 
Sprints

• Landon Dunlap won the 800-meter run with a 1:58.37 time.
• Carlos Gomez placed third in the 400-meter dash with a 54.03 time.

 
Hurdles

• The Owls had all three runners qualify for the 55-meter hurdles. In the finals, Easton Ambler placed second with an 8.40 time, Rodney Cherilus placed third with an 8.50 time, and Riley Solan placed fourth with an 8.86 time.

 
Distance

• Ian Schwierjohn placed third in the mile with a 4:35.46 time.
• Jenson Starr set a new PR in the 3000-meter run with a 9:02.45, fourth place finish.

 
Relays

• The 4x200-meter relay, comprised of Jaren Washington, Riley Solan, Charles Pickens, Isaiah Buse, placed third with a 1:38.57 time.
• The Owls had two teams compete in the 4x400-meter relay. The A team, comprised of Easton Ambler, Dustin Russell, Zachary Knopf, Riley Solan, placed fourth with a 3:50.45 time. The B team, comprised of Tyler Winslett, James Ruck, Jacob Polacek, Jenson Starr, placed seventh with a 3:58.06 time.

 
Throws

• Daulton Melton placed fifth in the weight throw (14.29m) and seventh in the shot put (12.66m).
