FULTON, Mo. – The (#23) William Woods University women's tennis team went 1-2 to start their five-match week. The Owls opened the week with a 4-3 loss to NCAA Division I Lindenwood University. The next day, they swept John Brown University, 7-0. They fell 6-1 on day three to NCAA Division II Southwest Baptist University. The Owls move to 7-11 on the season.
 
 
Lindenwood University def. (#24) William Woods University, 4-3
Doubles

• Lena Greefs and Eline Drent finished first, grabbing a 6-3 win for the Owls in the two.
• Hanna Lindeboom and Marta Calvo Larraz clinched the doubles point in the one with a 7-5 win.

Singles

• Hanna Lindeboom won 6-4, 6-2 in the one.
• Marta Calvo Larraz lost in a third set, 6-7 (6), 7-5, 2-6.
• Eline Drent won in the four singles, 6-2, 6-3.

• Marta Calvo Larraz and Hanna Lindeboom in the one and Eline Drent and Lena Greefs in the two both topped their opponent, 6-1.
• Hannah Meyer and Zara Littlejohn completed the doubles sweep with a 6-3 win in the three.

Singles

• Lena Greefs finished first, winning 6-1, 6-1 in the three spot.
• Hanna Lindeboom put the Owls up 3-0 with a 6-1, 6-2 win in the one.
• Marta Calvo Larraz scored the clinch point with a 6-4, 6-1 win in the two.
• Eline Drent won 6-2, 6-3 in the four.
• Zara Littlejohn shut out her opponent in the six spot, 6-0, 6-0.
• Hannah Meyer completed the sweep with a 6-2, 6-1 win in the five.

Doubles

• The Owls were unable to pick up a doubles win. 

Singles

• Hanna Lindeboom grabbed the Owls' only win on the day, finishing with a 7-5, 2-6, 6-1 win in the one.

 
 

The women's tennis team will celebrate senior day on Friday at noon prior to the 1 p.m. match due to the potential weather on Saturday.
