FULTON, Mo. – The William Woods University baseball team went into the weekend series tied for first place with (#8) Missouri Baptist University. The Owls went 0-3 on the weekend to fall to 22-13 on the season with a 8-4 conference mark.

The Owls play a midweek game on Tuesday, April 11, at Culver-Stockton College (Mo.) at 3 p.m.

- MBU scored the one and only run of the game on a RBI single in the fifth inning.
- The Owls posted four hits with two coming from Isaiah Gibbs including a double. Ian O'Malley had one and Jack Niggemeier had one.
- Pitching: Kaleb Haley (1-1) came in as relief and was credited with the loss. She pitched 2.0 innings. Brock Glavey started on the mound, pitched 4.0 innings and struck out three. Carson Prescott pitched the final inning.
- The Owls scored three in the fourth, one in the sixth and one in the seventh. MBU scored 10 of their 15 runs in the seventh and eighth innings.
- Alex Wimer went 3-4 at the plate with two home runs.
- Matt Hanson went 3-4 from the plate with a run scored and a RBI.
- Ian O'Malley and Isaiah Gibbs each recorded a double.
- Pitching: Jared Stephens (3-2) started on the mound and was credited with the loss after pitching 2.2 innings. Wyatt Fischer pitched 4.0 innings in relief and struck out three. Logan Blumhagen, Tyler Abney and Andrew Fyffe all spent time on the mound.
