ST. LOUIS, Mo. – William Woods University midfielder
Miles Andrews was named the American Midwest Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of August 21-27, as announced by the conference office on Monday. The Jefferson City, Mo., freshman recorded two goals and an assist for the Owls last week.
"Miles has been dynamic for us by creating chances for himself and others," said head coach
Tommy Nienhaus. "He'll only get better from here."
Andrews had the game-winner in WWU's 1-0 win over Dordt University on Thursday, his first career goal, and added a goal and an assist in Sunday's 4-2 loss to no. 12-ranked Central Methodist. He started and played the full 90 minutes against the Eagles.
He was joined on the defensive side by Harris-Stowe State University keeper Michael Brennan. They were selected from nominees submitted by each institution based on their performances from Aug. 21 through Aug. 27 and chosen through a vote of Sports Information Directors from around the AMC.
