COLUMBIA, Mo. - Francis Okwuosah his fourth double-double (14 pts, 12 reb) of the season, but William Woods (16-8, 8-4 AMC) wasn't able to maintain its first-half shooting pace, falling 74-67 at Columbia College (21-5, 11-2 AMC) on Saturday.
The Owls trailed for just 45 seconds in the first half on Saturday, as they knocked down 10 triples in the opening 20:00 for the third time this season (12-16 at Baptist Bible, 10-18 at Arkansas Baptist), connecting at a 50.0 percent (14-28) overall pace from the floor.
But the second half was a different story, as WWU managed just 10 total field goal makes in 36 attempts. From long range, the struggles were amplified as the Owls attempted 21 triples on each side of the halftime break but made just four in the second.
Woods also ran up against a big disparity at the free throw line, as Columbia went to the line 20 times to just nine for the Owls.
William Woods returns to Anderson Arena to close out the regular season with back-to-back home games. First up is a 7:30 p.m. tipoff against Central Baptist.
