ALTON, Ill. – The William Woods men's golf team battled through challenging weather conditions to claim the
team title at the Missouri Baptist Fall Invitational in Alton, Illinois. The Owls' A-Team posted a final score of
+10, securing
first place in the tournament.
Leading the way for the Owls was
Spencer Worley, who bounced back from a +2 opening round with a stellar
-4 performance on day two to finish atop the individual leader board.
Oliver Hienonen also turned in a strong second day, finishing -1 (+5 overall) and helping the A-Team seal the top spot.
The
William Woods B-Team delivered a solid showing as well, finishing
second overall with a team score of
+33.
Lucas Dvorak led the group with a steady performance throughout the invitational.
The Owls will look to carry their momentum into their next tournament as they hit the road for Parkville, Missouri, where Park University hosts the Virginia McCoy Fall Invitational on October 13
th and 14
th.
