CREVE COUER, Mo.- William Woods women's basketball (0-6, 0-4 Heart) took the short trek to St. Louis County Tuesday night to take on a familiar foe in Missouri Baptist University (2-5, 2-2 Heart). The Spartans took the lead with two minutes to go in the first quarter and never surrendered it for the duration of the contest.

The Spartans worked in quick succession, typing up the game midway through the first quarter.
Woods and Missouri Baptist traded baskets for the next few possessions ending in an eleven-point deadlock before the Spartans started to find their rhythm, finishing the first quarter up by two.
MBU caught fire in the second quarter, growing their lead to eight by the halfway point. The Owls battled back in the third, putting together a 13-point quarter to cut the lead by two. The Spartans reignited in the fourth quarter, carrying a 19-point closing period to a ten-point win.
