Box Score FULTON, Mo. - No. 20 William Woods University (7-7) was scheduled to face NCAA Division II Southwest Baptist University (7-5) for its regular-season finale Thursday at Suzanne Neal Memorial Tennis Complex. However, the match was canceled due to rain after doubles play, in which the Owls won the doubles point.

Taking the first two doubles matchups and earning the doubles point for the Owls, WWU's
Hanna Lindeboom and
Mireia Simon Sanchez, ranked 27th in the ITA NAIA women's tennis doubles rankings released Thursday, beat Defne Ursane and Paula Ballesteros 6-4 at the top position, then
Kristina Dimitrijevic and
Sophia Hausner won 7-5 at the two slot. Woods' No. 3 doubles team of
Zara Littlejohn and
Samya Sikand was tied at 6 with SBU's Maria Clara Miranda Faria Zotti and Giselle Garcia before the contest went unfinished due to the weather - the first four singles matchups were in the early stages when it got canceled.
William Woods will compete in the first Heart of America Athletic Conference Women's Tennis Championships, which begins next Thursday at Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City. The Owls' opening-round opponent has yet to be determined, and the start time for the matchup will be announced later.
