Box Score KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Taking just 1Â hour and 37 minutes, No. 20/No. 1 seed William Woods University (8-7) quickly dispatched No. 4 seed Missouri Valley College (5-4) 4-0 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Championships semifinals Friday at Plaza Tennis Center.

Abigail Lemberger Hughes said. "They were focused the whole match and secured three solid singles points, with our four through six singles securing the wins we needed for the victory."
The Owls needed only 28 minutes to earn the doubles point. WWU's
Zara Littlejohn and
Samya Sikand won 6-2 over the Vikings' Keila Liebenberg and Deborah Mhizha at the three line, then
Kristina Dimitrijevic and
Charlotte Ready beat MVC's Queralt Carbo and Laura Moreno 6-4 at the two.
Ready, who hasn't been in The Woods's lineup for most of the season, turned around and recorded the Owls' first singles victory, defeating Moreno 6-3, 6-1 at the six slot. Sikand also won in doubles and singles for WWU, beating Mhizha 6-1, 6-1 at the four line.
Chloe Hecker, who only played in singles, finished the sweep with a 6-4, 6-0 triumph over Liebenberg at the five.
William Woods will aim to become the first-ever Heart women's tennis champion when it faces archrival (RV)/No. 2 seed Missouri Baptist University (13-7) at 10 a.m. Saturday. When they met on April 9, the Owls eked out a 4-3 win over the Spartans in St. Louis.
