ST. LOUIS - For the first time in school history, William Woods University secured the American Midwest Conference Lowell Pitzer Men's Sports Trophy, and the Owls finished second in the overall Presidents' Cup standings and third in the Valerie Beeson Women's Sports Trophy, announced the conference on May 12.

"Really proud of how strong we finished the year!" William Woods Interim Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Casey Wieder said. "To finish the year top three in all three categories is a testament to the overall depth of our department. It's an honor to win the Lowell Pitzer Men's Sports Trophy in our final year of competition in the AMC."

The Owls scored 282½ points, five more than runner-up Columbia College and 30 more than third-place Missouri Baptist University, to take home the 2024-25 Lowell Pitzer Men's Sports Trophy. WWU tacked on 105 points from spring sports - 45 from golf (won the AMC Championships team and individual titles) and 30 each in baseball and outdoor track and field - to give it the trophy-winning final tally.

Although William Woods didn't win the most significant Presidents' Cup, its second-place finish was its best showing since 2017-18. The Owls recorded 615 points to receive runner-up honors this year, as the Cougars won the award with 667½ and the Spartans placed third with 595.

In the second season of the Valerie Beeson Women's Sports Trophy's existence, Woods earned third place, for the second straight year, tallying 317½ points; first-place CC posted 385 and second-place MBU 342½. The Owls added 115 points among three spring sports to their final total - 55 from softball, 40 from outdoor track and field and 20 from golf.
